The US is not yet quite at the stage of death squads rounding up the usual suspects and giving them a dose of General Pinochet’s Helitherapy.

Not Quite

But it’s getting close.

Larry Correia has said repeatedly that the left views violence as a knob or dial they can turn up and down, while the right sees it as an on-off switch.

I think that is fundamentally correct. It is possible the last few weeks have got us to the point where the switch has been turned on. Like Laughing Wolf I dearly hope that this is not the case. On the other hand hope is not a strategy, and many people on the right are now very angry:

I don’t want to “stand in solidarity” with the other side of the aisle. I want to defeat you. I want to defeat the godless ideology that kills babies in the womb, sterilizes confused children, turns our cities into cesspools of degeneracy and lawlessness…and that murdered Charlie Kirk.

Social media is aflame right now with leftist celebration of Charlie’s death. I wonder if any among them understand what has just happened.

If there is a Yamamoto somewhere in their midst warning, that all they have done is awoken a sleeping giant.

I doubt it. I think they gave up such introspection and self-awareness long ago.

I don’t know exactly what will happen next. I just know that it won’t be the same as what has happened in the past.

There will be thoughts and prayers…Charlie would have wanted prayers. Not for himself but for those left behind and for the country that he loved. But then there will be a reckoning.

My Christian faith requires me to love my enemies and pray for those who curse me. It does not require me to stand idly by in the midst of savagery and barbarism...quite the opposite.

So every time I feel tired, every time I feel discouraged or overwhelmed, I am going to watch the video of a good man being murdered in Utah…I will force myself to watch it…and then I will return to the work of destroying the evil ideology responsible for that and so much more.

Rest with God Charlie, your fight is over.

Ours is just beginning.

However if we aren’t yet at the point where the switch has been flipped then, to change metaphors, the trigger has been pulled back to the point where it’s about to cause the hammer to strike. So we’d best hope that the trigger isn’t on a Sig P320 where it turns out that the hammer can strike just by wiggling parts of the gun in that situation. Or in the case of the US that some erroneous viral video, say, ends up triggering the situation we don’t want.

We should also hope that the trigger hasn’t got past that point and that there is a delay in the mechanism before the hammer hits. We could be there if that delay is caused by the people involved on the right following the 7Ps.

The 7 Ps

What do I mean by that? And what are the 7Ps? The military (and military adjacent) know what the 7Ps stand for - Proper Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance¹.

A lot of the people on the right are military (and military adjacent) and so understand the value of planning operations before carrying them out. It is quite possible that some of those people have started the planning and preparation for action - the identification of suitable targets, the gathering of means, the scouting of locations and so on.

I don’t know whether this is happening. I doubt anyone does, not even the NSA and friends. That’s because approximately step 1 in this preparation phase would be to consider OPSEC and find ways to plan and prepare that doesn’t involve the wiretaps we carry in our pockets or communication methods that can be tapped by authorities.

Step 0 is almost certainly building the group and making sure there are no glowies. We know how to do this. I’m not going to explain, you can read any number of thrillers and the like to get an idea.

Step -1 is getting the weapons and equipment required. It’s step -1 because these people already have the kit. Possibly there might be some cautious purchases of certain dual use house and garden supplies. Possibly.

Lists

Another early step is building the list of potential targets because the targets have to be known before suitable locations for their demise can be investigated. If I were a lefty progressive sort I’d be thinking hard about how to not get on those lists and I’ve got bad news on that front: it’s too late to get off them, though you can probably get yourself added quite easily and also have your priority raised.

I suspect a number of prominent lefty sorts think that the targets will be Antifa cells, Trans activists, Queers for Palestine and the like and that since they aren’t members of those therefore they are safe. I’m sure those people will make it on to the lists, but they aren’t going to be the only sorts and they aren’t even the primary targets.

Why? The people on the right who may be planning things are going to be well aware of other military maxims, such as the value of taking out the commanders and senior NCOs first. Thus the higher value targets are the ones who created the conditions for these violent sorts and possibly bought the bricks for the riots etc.

That means financiers e.g. Soros, father & son; the trustees of foundations; the leaders of NGOs; the academics who indoctrinate woke crap and the miscellaneous deans of diversity behind them.

Slightly lower down the priority order would be CEOs of companies that sponsor pride events and wokeify their products e.g. Disney; politicians who write laws that enable the left; judges who let criminals out on bail; and prosecutors fail to prosecute. Then we have the propagandists, which is where journalists fall along with the loud protest leaders. Only after the infrastructure to create more radicals has been taken out is it necessary to take out the foot soldier activists.

Mind you as targets of opportunity they’ll be fine.

And this is why I say it’s too late to get off the lists. Thanks to people like data republican, not to mention websites, press releases and acres of sycophantic news coverage it is known who these people are. Moreover many of them have posted informative selfies and the like on social media that mean that their houses, cars etc. can be identified. And there are other places where their location is easily discovered. That could be their official place of work, that could be a conference or gala event they are attending and so on.

However lists can be added to and priorities updated.

All the leftist sorts that have celebrated Charlie Kirk’s death might like to consider that. I don’t say they will all die in the first wave, but that’s another reason for the 7Ps. Predicting who does what when certain events happen means it is possible to take out additional targets in the confusion. Or let others do it for you. And then the skeer is on and the traffic jams of those fleeing and the bunkers of those hiding in place become targets too.

Ghoulish Speculation?

I don’t know that this is happening. In fact, as I said above, I hope and pray it isn’t. But after the attempted Trump assassinations last summer and all the recent activities it could be. I also really really hope that none of America’s enemies decide to stick an oar in and try to inflame things more, because that’s a plausible thing for someone like, say, Putin, V., to consider if he feels it would help him last a little longer and not be replaced as Russia collapses due to his Ukraine misadventure

However before we copy Spivonomist and invest in Komatsu stock, we can hope that President Trump, AG Bondi and their various aides and minions can find a legal way to arrest the people on the lists. It would be good if someone pointed them to this substack and the suggestion within it:

Personally, I think Trump’s administration should grab the opportunity and bring the full force of the US Federal Government down on the criminal organization that styles itself as the Democratic Party, together with all of its subsidiary and affiliate organizations – private foundations, NGOs, academic grievance studies departments. It goes without saying that the police, the judiciary, and the military should be purged of all leftist personnel. Identifying leftists is not difficult: unlike the right, they have felt no need to hide themselves, for they have been in power for the better part of a century. They have left abundant trace of their sympathies: rainbow flags in their bios, pronouns in their email signatures, Black Lives Matter banners on their houses.

RICO can be used to freeze the assets of leftist organizations, and to arrest their top members. Another law already on the books, 50 U.S.C. §§ 841–844 (I am indebted to Mass Expedition for bringing this to my attention), is practically tailor made to roll the Democrats up. The law was originally added to the US legal code in the 1950s to go after the Communist Party, but its description of the threat in the first subsection sounds, let us say, strikingly familiar. Moreover, the young radicals of the Democrat Party, the Democratic Socialists of America, are openly avowed communists. For all intents and purposes the Democratic Party is the modern Communist Party. However, if adapting a law originally intended for the Communist Party to the Democratic Party seems like a stretch, just remember that the Democrats tried to imprison Douglass Mackey for election interference because he shared a meme, to say nothing of what they did to the heroes of J6 by pretending that their unscheduled tour of the People’s House was an ‘insurrection’.

The left would of course label all this as “fascism” or McCarthyism or just in general REEE OrangeManBad, and protest and riot. That would be to misread the situation badly. They might want to look up to the Nick Freitas Xeet I posted near the top and recall that, as Instapundit and others have explained, the point of police and courts and due process is to stop the lynch mob. The lynch mob is always an option if the police and the courts are unable or unwilling to do the job
